Time to pick up the pace!

Well from the number of hits yesterday, I know many are waiting to see my latest numbers.
Well here they are (or here it is!!!!) - 195.5llbs or 88.8 kg.
Could certainly be better but like many of my fellow bloggers, Christmas habits are certainly dying hard! They are like the many headed serpent: as soon as you've tackled one, another emerges.
I think that our human diet has become so wrong that old habits die hard. The dependence on sugar/ carbohydrates is so engrained that one prolonged lapse makes it hard to break away from the clutches of the carb monster.
Well here is to a better week ahead!
I have baked and cooked...
Abi's Dukan chocolate cake ( for snack time and 'meals on the run!')
Dukan bread (rolls and sliced loaf- for daily oatbran intake and sandwiches/ burgers for lunch and/ or dinner.)
Beef patties
Roast chicken,
Abi's Fish cakes.

I have stocked :
plain, vanilla and strawberry lowfat Dr Oetker yoghurt
Normandy Fromage Frais
Quark
Chives (Scallions)
Eggs
Oatbran
Skimmed milk
Wheatbran (has any one else noticed that Tesco no longer stock it?)
Bird's custard  powder(Suggested by the Dukan coaches who say " Bird's Custard

Bird's Custard is the original version of what is known generically as custard powder. It is a cornflour-based powder which thickens to form a custard-like sauce when mixed with milk and heated to a sufficient temperature. Bird's Custard was first formulated and first cooked by Alfred Bird in 1837, because his wife was allergic to eggs the key ingredient used to thicken traditional custard. As it contains cornflour it’s a tolerated but you can use it with skimmed milk and sweetener."

I intend to try the 'custard recipes, e.g. icecream, with Bird's custard rather than moking mine from scratch. Batches of 25g powder contain 21.6 g carbs, trace for sugar (so sweeten with splenda) and trace for fat (make it up with skimmed milk).

I think I am ready to go....And I must remember to exercise!

Remember- It is not the quantity, but the fact that you do it at all...it raises your metabolism for hours afterwards. (Reference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMim-krTWxk&feature=related)
